2019 workshop public schedule

SafeTALK is a LivingWorks program designed to run alongside ASIST, forming a key part of a comprehensive suicide prevention strategy. While ASIST provides in-depth suicide intervention skills for Safety Aiders, SafeTALK equips Connector Helpers with the ability to recognize suicide risk and confidently connect individuals to life-saving intervention resources.

💡 Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die—they are looking for help. SafeTALK-trained helpers recognize these invitations for support and take action.

What You’ll Learn

🔹 Recognize Signs of Suicide Risk – Identify invitations for help in everyday conversations.
🔹 Overcome the Tendency to Miss, Dismiss, or Avoid Suicide – Understand why people often overlook warning signs and learn how to respond.

🔹 Apply the TALK Steps:
Tell – Identify the signs that may indicate someone is struggling.
Ask – Start a direct and compassionate conversation.
✔ Listen – Hear their concerns without judgment.
KeepSafe – Connect them to the right support, such as an ASIST-trained caregiver.
🔹 Know Community Resources – Learn how to link someone to further help.
